I went to check out at the Dollar Tree recently and there was someone ahead of me in the check out line who was chatting with the cashier. They were laughing and cutting up but I was only half way paying attention to what they were saying. As their transaction was ending and the man ahead of me was being handed his receipt and change the cashier nodded over towards me and said, "I know she knows what I mean".
My first instinct was to be rude to the cashier ..after all, what the hell is she meaning by that?? But...I will NOT be THAT kind of Karen so I just played along. The cashier could not contain her laughter as she told me how that gentleman said something about falling down. .to which she replied something about if she had fallen down she would probably pee herself! Now...I don't know how this old lady knows anything about my ability to hold my pee in any given situation, but dammit if she was not right on!! Yes, she and I both know!
To the younger female readers out there...to the gals who have not had any children...yes..as a girl ages and, especially if that now aging girl has had children, her ability to hold her pee when sneezing, vomiting (eww), laughing or falling down diminishes. Sexy, right?! Ha!! The good news is that there are treatment options available for this issue so, if you are having pee issues, be sure to talk with your doctor.
Age and gravity do take their toll on our body. Our boobs are lower than they used to be. Hell..our bodies as a whole are much different than they used to be. The arthritis, the brain fog, the dry skin...all of it! It just sucks! Do you sound like a crackling glow stick every time you get up off the floor? Yep..me too. Ever look around for your glasses only to discover that you were already wearing them? Yeah...me too. And, these days do you prefer some day drinking over hitting the club at night? Uh huh..none of us want to be the old lady in the bar yawning. LOL.
Yes..getting older does have its share of BS but it is not all bad. It is a wonderful time of knowing your children as adults. It's the time we get to become grandparents. And it is the time when we get to yell at kids to "stay off my lawn" or to "pull your pants up". OK so now I am a little confused..is it really OK to occasionally be a grumpy old person?? Of course! Is it fun to give the younger generations a hard time from time to time? Hell yes! So stop feeling sorry for yourselves, ladies...put a panty liner on, take your ibuprofen and give 'em hell!
